This week on WHOA: A Most EXCELLENT Keanu Reeves podcast, improviser Derrick Tesson joins Krissy to discuss River’s Edge and Knock Knock. A pretty unsettling movie about apathetic teen murder and a pretty unsettling movie about enthusiastic young adult murder!
Spoiler Alert
We are absolutely going to spoil all the details of a movie you’ve had 30 years to watch, as well as a movie you might be better off skipping anway…. Consider yourself alerted.

Episode 1 Features
River’s Edge. A 1986 gritty teen drama starring Crispin Glover, Ione Skye, Dennis Hopper and Keanu Reeves as Matt. Matt is a troubled kid from the wrong side of the tracks who finds himself facing a crisis- or what SHOULD be a crisis- when one of his “friends” murders a girl and…. nobody really cares.
You’re going to have a hard time watching this unless you buy a real life physical DVD on amazon HERE.
Here is a link to the salon.com article referenced in the episode
In Episode 1 we also cover-
Knock Knock. A 2015 Horror/Thriller directed by Eli Roth and starring Lorenza Izzo, Ana de Armas (remember her from Exposed?) and Keanu Reeves as Evan. Evan is left alone by his family for the weekend. All hell breaks loose when two young women come knocking at his door. This movie is available to rent on Amazon… but I don’t necessarily recommend it.
In this episode Derrick and I try to come up with a kicky name for Keanu fandom, akin to Benedict Cumberbatch’s Cumberbitches. Listen to hear our suggestions and then comment to let us know if you have other fun ideas for a banner under which Keanu fans can gather.

What’s Up Next
Episode 3 is coming at you on June 29th, 2016. We are sticking with 1986 & hopping backwards into 2014. Babes in Toyland is another made for TV gem which features Keanu as Jack B Nible, a young man who finds himself in a battle to save Christmas and Toyland with the power of Cincinnati! John Wick is an action thriller in which Keanu is John Wick, a man who finds himself in a battle to avenge his car and his puppy with the power of love! …and a whole lot of guns.
Keanu-thusiasm
Bonus Keanu. You are welcome.
Keanu shreds? Yes. Indeed he does. Keanu likes to learn his own kung fu and fight movies for action movies and, as we are about to see, he likes to learn his own “Gun Fu” as well. Click here to be whisked away to a polygon article where you can see Keanu shred on a tactical gun field and learn some of the details of his training for John Wick 2.
